FAQ: Why is Bellows AFS cutting down ironwood trees? Safety Concerns: The ironwoods planted in the 1960s, are starting to die and decay from old age and termite infestation. Old ironwoods are falling on buildings, cars, campsites and could fall on people as well. These widow makers as they are sometimes called, need to be removed before they cause irreparable harm.
